Sotheby's. The
Charles Pankow Collection of Egyptian Art. December 2004. Polychromed
wood face mask, 19th/21st Dynasty, 1305-946 B.C. 8 7/8 inches wide,
comes from the inner coffin of a large sarcophagus and is painted over
a layer of gesso and linen. It sold for more than $300,000.

Christies's.
October 1999. Gesso-painted wooden anthropoid funerary mask. New Kingdom,
circa 1300-1200 B.C. Height: 47'6 cm.
