auction is an Egyptian Hard Stone Sitting Scribe, Egypt, Late Period,
Dynasty 30. It is a very attractive, rare and
very hard piece to find. We acquired this item many weeks ago
from a private collection and we're told that this item was found in
Lower Egypt. Another item like this one may not
be found again! This is a one of a kind

above listed item is from the Late Period,(715-332 B.C.E.). This lovely
"Seated Scribe" is carved from stone composite. We acquired
this lovely piece from a select private collection and its provenance
is from Alexandria, Egypt. He is depicted in a simple wig and kilt,
his legs crossed with an open scroll in his lap. The open scroll has
very visible hieroglyphics. The piece is intact, with original base
missing and age wear. The reason for the item being available is due
to the vast extent of archeological findings, thousands of years in
Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in older
private collections worldwide.
