This scarab is a pottery scarab produced in terra-cotta molds, carved when dry and different colored glazes applied. The glyphs on the underside are yet to be translated. Beautiful blue faience glaze still to be seen. Cutaways add value to this piece. This scarab is in excellent condition with no major breaks or repairs. Measuring 1.5" in length. Greco-Roman period (332 B.C. - 395 A.D.). Purchased from a doctor in Egypt. A fine addition to your collection.
